Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...

Perhaps I should just move my update day to Thursdays? Sadly the problem is, no matter what day I update on, I feel as though I have no time. Half my week is spent feeling as though I can't breath! That's what happens when you are trying to learn how to market a business, design a venue from scratch, how to construct a garment let alone how to design a garment... and I'm trying to get an internship, and keep my winter depressive state in check. I must say, if my eastern humanities teacher wants to keep doing a class of meditation once a week I'd be happy!

In other news, I've been addicted to saving inspiration pictures. My poor computer memory probably hates me, but it's rather hard not to! Especially when I keep making inspiration boards. So now I have pictures that range from the anniversary Barbie fashion show, men jumping like dorks, make-up ideas, and a couple of interior and exterior ideas to boot.

So for your delight, more color boards and pictures. Hurray for starting the weekend with color!

It's not that I enjoy being late

But in the case of my blog, school work comes first.
I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I know I did! Mmmmm...Chocolate... Granted it wasn't just the chocolate that made the day marvelous, heck it wasn't even the day. You see, my older sister go engaged on the 12th, and it was kind of amazing cause the family was there and I took pictures of the event!
However, because I was so busy with that, and then needing to catch up on homework the next day, I ended up missing the Grammy's. I was thoroughly chastised by my Fashion Product Evaluation professor, and now regret my flub. However it's nice to know that while he was gushing about Rhianna's Dior dress, I had already done so earlier this fall. Ahaha! I'm ahead of the curve!

As for the red carpet I have a few favorites and I feel I owe you all a list of fashionable people and pictures:

Katy Perry is probably the only person I know that could show up in an angel get up and still look amazing.
Haley Williams looked pretty cute in my opinion... everyone else seemed to hate in though.
Florence Welch looked amazing. Period.

Kelley Osbourn looked so delightfully fresh and chic. Who remembers her in her punk stages, cause I sure can't.
Crystal Bowersox also seemed to get some flack for her dreads, but I find she looks like some kind of boho goddess on the carpet.
Adam Lambert, Why must you make suits look so amazing?
Janelle Monae made her black suit look absolutely stunning as well. Heck, if it wasn't for the fact that I really like wearing dresses and skirts I would so channel her and only wear pant suits.
Guess who else was rocking the chic suits: The men of Glee. Left to right: Chord Overstreet, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale and Matthew Morrison.

There were many others that were beautiful, fun, amazing, outrageous (Lady Gaga anyone?), but the ones you see above are definitely my favs.

Best way to keep me from writing

Have me slip on ice, on the 'L' platform no less, and land in such a way that I hit my computer and now it won't connect to the internet. So here I am at my school's computer, typing a day late.

But this post shouldn't be about unhappy things, it should be about lovely things. Like Valentine‘s Day!!! Yeah, I have celebrated many single awareness days, but I still love the holiday. So many flowers, candy, cheap valentines (yes, I've been known to give them out at work), and of course all the pink and red decorations. Kitch-y or chic, it doesn't matter. I love it!

So in the spirit of this delightful holiday, and the fact that I've been obsessed with making inspiration boards/color pallets, I have a few to share today, as well as some poetry and wisdom you wouldn't normally attach to this day.

Looked at but cannot be seen - it is beneath form;
Listened to but cannot be heard - it is beneath sound;
Held but cannot be touched - it is beneath feeling;
These depthless things evade definition,
And blend into a single mystery.

In its rising there is no light,
In its falling there is no darkness,
A continuous thread beyond description,
Lining what does not exist;
Its form formless,
Its image nothing,
Its name silence;
Follow it, it has no back,
Meet it, it has no face.

Attend the present to deal with the past;
Thus you grasp the continuity of the Way,
Which is its essence.
-14 , Tao Te Ching

Great perfection seems incomplete,
But does not decay;
Great abundance seems empty,
But does not fail.

Great truth seems contradictory;
Great cleverness seems stupid;
Great eloquence seems awkward.

As spring overcomes the cold,
And autumn overcomes the heat,
So calm and quiet overcome the world.-45, Tao Te Ching

And here is my favorite sonnet, as well as the one that makes people question my sanity:

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.
-130, Shakespeare

What can I say, there's something about it that says true love to me. I think it has something to do with the concept that even though the girl isn't a paragon of beauty, she is still the one he loves most.

If you can get out of your driveway...

Then you don't live in the Great Lakes area. Chicago = a mess. However, for those of you willing to go outside, it's like the most epic wonderland EVER! I'm pretty sure this is what Narnia would look like while the White Witch ruled if Narnia was a metropolitan city and not a medieval utopia.

And if you're crazy (like myself) and took pictures last night, you probably have some rather pretty look pictures. Like these:

But this morning you probably couldn't get out the front door. Our upstairs neighbors are the ones in charge of cleaning up the snow (we made him coffee, and therefore his morning) and by about 3 we could go outside. Here's what the backyard looks like now:

But the best part is our ally way:

Just in case you were wondering, the snow piles stand about 5 feet high in the middle. Granted this keeps kids in and the bad guys out, but this also keeps cars, the animals, and you in and no easy way of getting to the grocery store.

So if your like me, and trying to keep warm in your sweats today, then I have a some photos that will hopefully inspire some warmth in your life.
